I've got 2 dream items waiting to be sniped and I'm so nervous! Especially since they both end tomorrow and I'll be out of town. I keep fearing I'll see those items in my "Didn't Win" list. But AS hasn't failed me yet so I'm hopeful! Smile

Anyways, does anyone else get goosebumps while waiting for an auction to end?

Take care,
~Shannon :-)~

yea I get nervous and love the rush!!! I've always been an auction nut(used to go to live auctions), but now I can do this without going out in the rain to get that good deal! I have always sniped manually until recently learning about AS.I thought I would miss the rush of last minute sniping but not at all! I don't forget or miss any auctions now and have won all but one snipe so far! AS works great especially as I work 7PM-7AM and I used to have to set the alarm to get up to snipe or lose by proxy bid!
I usually get very nervous right when an auction is about to end...I go crazy refresing the page over and over...x_x I get quite caught up in thing, especially when it comes to items I know others want. And since I get snipers in my auctions 9 times out of 10, of course I have a good reason to be nervous...^^; Just like anyone else, I don't want to be outbid on a rare item. But, with the help of AS and my own good bidding strategies, I rarely lose an auction I truly want.

Good, so it's not just me. Big Grin

I'm proud to report that I did win 2 of my dream items. Unfortunately, I lost another but it isn't any fault of AS. I thought my bid would be high enough but it wasn't. So now I will keep repeating what Mrs. M said to make me feel better lol.

"keep in mind that there will be more for auction just like it again sometime."

Shannon, even though I do sometimes get nervous, there is an easy way to get around it. The question is, where does the nervousness come from? The fear of not winning the auction.

However, if you make up in your mind the ABSOLUTE MAXIMUM you are willing to pay for the item and have it lined up with Auction Sniper, and STILL lose, you know that it was not meant to be. This is not the craps table. You are in 100% control of how much you want to spend.

I figure if I lose an auction--and obviously the more I want it the more I'm prepared to bid-- then it was not meant to be. "Too rich for my blood," I will say, with nary a regret.

The worst thing is when I waffle about how much I want to pay and make my bid-to-desire ratio too low and lose the auction, wishing I had bid more.

But if you keep in your mind the "max I want to spend" rule you will not be nervous, but just shrug and move on =+)

Stiil, I know how it feels. It's a GOOD nervous! Here's a drink to being nervous!

Every day above ground is a GOOD day
That is exactly how I have approached the over five hundred auctions I have won since I started using AS nearly two years ago. That is why I don't understand people who use AS only for the "really must have" auctions, to try and save a few cents, at risk of losing other auctions because they forgot or missed auction's end, or got caught up in the frenzy and began to waffle on their bid amounts.

Make a firm decision, stick with it and you will not have regrets later. Be in control. Cool
What really makes me panic is when I have been looking at my latest wins. Then I try to go back to my: Ready to Snipe. Only to have it completely disappear when I ask for an update. To have the computer say that I have nothing really panics me.
I have tried to reload the page, but it still does the same thing. I have found that the only solution for me is to completely sign out of AS. Go to something else, and then return. Suprise they show back up again. But when the time to end of the auction is short. Boy do I panic unil I can get the ready to snips back and up to date. Cool
I get nervous too and consider it all part of the game of sniping. Big Grin If I've done my research and know the same item is out there in ebay-land if I lose a particular auction, it's no biggie. But if it's something that comes along sporadically I start getting nervous that I might lose my must have item. So far that hasn't happened tho. I've only lost one item I've sniped with AS. As soon as I lost (I happened to be watching the auction when AS did it's work) I did a search and found the exact same item had been listed just that day. It had a BIN price that was lower than my orig. max. bid and shipping was lower too. I made out better than the person who outbid me on the auction I sniped. Yay me!

So if you lose, you lose. There will always be another (unless it's a handmade, one of a kind item in which you have to decide how badly you want it).

Hi Bleppo. Welcome. Yep, the best way to look at it is: If I have bid my max and I stll lose, at least I did not overpay. And, since most of the items are not hand made origionals by ABCED, another will be along. That is where the setting up of bid groups makes sense. Sooner or later you will get one, and at your price. Good sniping to all, and to all a good night. Wink
