This and other type of software sites are not permitted as they solicit eBay User Ids or passwords from buyers and encourage buyers to place their eBay bids through a site other than eBay. The fundamental necessity for our decision to maintain this rule stems from eBay's desire to protect the security and privacy of its members. Any situation wherein a member discloses his or her user id, and password to a third party opens a host of potential situations involving misuse of this information. We realize that this link may have been placed there by your third party service Auctiva, however you are responsible for the information that they place within your listings.

(1) links that advertise specific items or features on another web page.

(2) links to other auction-style sites.

(3) links to sites offering the same merchandise for the same or lower price (than the price set in the eBay listing).

(4) links to sites offering merchandise prohibited on eBay. (This includes links from general viewing areas to websites that bring the viewer to adult content without first viewing a disclaimer or adult verification page.)

(5) links to third parties' web sites without the permission of the third party (this prohibition includes linking to IMAGES hosted on others' web sites without permission).

(6) links that encourage buyers to place their eBay bids through a site other than eBay.

This notice is based solely upon review of the aforementioned listing(s). We encourage you to review all of your listings to ensure full compliance to our guidelines. This is obviously pure eBay CRAP.

In case they havent noticed there are several million listings on eBay by: Andale, Auctiva, AuctionWorks, Channel Advisor, Vendio, Auction Helper and so on.

All of those companies help eBay sellers list and manage their eBay auctions. And all of them require the eBay sellers username and password.

So come on eBay, get your stories straight, or change your policies. It's ok for sellers to share their info, but not buyers? That's not what your policy says. eBay just doesnt have the nuts to go end 35% of the listings on their site by those sellers because they need the money. But they dont mind ending the few listings that have a link to our site because it wont hurt their bottom line.

Or maybe it's just some poor sport in your policies department got his pitifully low bid beat by one of our snipers one day and had a tissy fit. Wahh Wahh, you big babies!

If security is the reason, then come up with a solution and let sites such as ourselves join the eBay API.

Very well put, Sniper Sara B. I couldn't agree more. Strange how eBay has that policy...they let some companies get away with "giving away user ID info" but not others...come on. The thing is eBay only lets things happen when they get something in return. Quite frankly, I don't know where I'd be without this service. Last night I won yet another auction for just $20...an item I usually see end at $70. It ended late too, past when I went to bed, so I wouldn't have been able to win otherwise. eBay is just being cranky that there's a service out there that works and that in a way doesn't have a thing to do with eBay itself. But yeah...eBay sure does have to get it's act together and whatnot. Their policies are starting to get worse and worse. They cancel auctions for the dumbest reasons you can imagine. Really makes you wonder.

Since you are aware that placing these banners on an eBay auction page will result in the removal of the auction don't you think you should mention not to use them on an actual auction page?
The banner actually says "Snipe this item" which implies that it is intended for use on an actual eBay auction.
Furthermore, You even have an option to have banners automatically included on eBay auctions.

"I am a seller and I will allow Auction Sniper to insert a banner at the bottom of my eBay auctions so that I can earn FREE snipes."

I really think you should respect your current customers and clear this up.
