I have an auction set up that ends around (Sunday) 2pm PST, or 5pm EST, will this be one of those where the 30seconds to a minute will be added? Would it be better for me to watch it myself? Or to set the lead time to 0? (I have it on 6).

I would really like to win it, but don't want to drive up the price by adding a bid, what would you do in my shoes? It's not that expensive an item but it's dirt cheap at the moment and I'm a poor college kid! Who's spent wayyy too much or had that much spent on him to keep his ass out of trouble!

Damn, it has gone up already, someone else bid but the original bidder set his higher it appears, I just hope he hasn't set it too high, for even in the last 5 seconds of the auction if he has his max set higher than my maximum, he will win, correct? Or will it not have time to go up from the current bid? I am assuming since it is e-bays system if his max is higher it will instantaneously surpass my bid. All I can do his hope he set his max low and is just watching to see who bids, it would not be good if his max was real high but why would I buy a used item for a mere 10 dollars less then new, might as well have more time to think and make a choice. However, for under half price I will go with this one.
While you're waiting for it to end wildman, I suggest you read up on proxy Bidding under eBay's help screen having set the max you want to snipe (add a few cents eg. $12.03 instead of $12 as this may help in a draw situation) and leave the lead-time alone as AS will adjust it anyway.
However, AS isn't infallible so if the item is a 'must-have' then cancel your snipe and bid manually!

Thanks R2, I've read up a bit more, and this is what I figured from the get go, good to make sure however. Should have taken advantage of the free seller start up but I have nothing to sell really... It's a big guessing game of who is maxing at what and how many to watch, even for a small item like a headset to play around with speech recognition. (My current topic.)
