There is a famous little "Pen Store" down in Wall Street - Only about six feet wide. The store was started 200 years ago by a man who used to write letters home for the imigrants for a small fee - to help them mail money back home to their country of origin. That might have been the Quill Erra. I bought a Gold Shaeffer there 30 years ago - but use it now only for Christmas cards. It isn't a dipper though. My mother had one, and a inkwell in her farm school desk. Those were blotter days..

These are new, and don't have nibs ... but as a collector, you might find them interesting (I have one that I use as a display piece).

Tommasi

Shipping is a bugger from Italy, but their stuff is really nice Smile

Thankfully I believe these were still in use at least into the 40's, so my image of you hasn't changed Smile Now no telling us you remember horse & buggys, when only the rich had indoor plumbing and when calculators were big heavy machines with cranks (oh, wait! I remember that one Smile ).

Oh, MY! Add that to my list of reasons to go to Italy... Great website, too!

But you know, I just did a search on ebay for "tommasi" and found absolutely nothing related to that! So much for "YOu can buy ANYTHING on eBay"

Do a search on 'Murano +Glass' and see what you get Smile Murano is the region ... tommasi is just one of many business's located there. They have particularly nice stuff though Wink

Hi there. I definitely have a couple pens (tho not fancy - more basic) and a bunch of nibs from my grandfather. Are there particular types / sizes you're looking for? I'm at dawnzig@hotmail.com and can take photos if yer interested.
