did not win | Auction Sniper

What does the "did not win" status mean other than the obvious. I am new to AS, but am still unclear as to why I did not win, I placed my bid with AS, which was higher than the winning bidder, hours before the auction closed. The winning bid did not place their bid for several hours prior to the closing. What did I do wrong?

What is going on? I have used AS hundreds of times and never had any problems. I did not win three items, all of my snipes were anywhere from 8 to 20 dollars over the winning bid. The items in question were 5551895973, 5551895969, 5551895979. these items are few and far between, and my getting up at 4 in the morning to place my bid is not an option I want to go back to!

I had the same problem with an auction ending around 10:00pm EST last night.
I am going to ask support.
