Since Ebay introduced the facility of having auctions end exactly on the 15 minute intervals their system gets very busy in teh few seconds before each 15 minute group. This means that when you are bidding on an auction which ends exactly on a 15 minute boundry and especially in teh early evening in US time zones you should use a longer lead time to ensure that Auction sniper is able to place the bid. I believe that AS does have some facilities to increase lead times to accomodate these busy times, but it may not have been sufficient.

The key bit of information missing is whether AS says it tried to bid and was too late (in which case this time issue is probably what is going on) or whether AS didn't try to bid at all in which case it was because it didn't need to - and a bid group would be a possible cause here - but a bid group with a quantity of one against two items both ending at the same time would be pretty difficult to handle, anyway.
