Did I get Sniped?

I have been repeatedly outbid so far. Today I put in a bid of $40.06 for an item with a leadtime of 7 secs. I lost to another bidder who won at $40.56. This bidder had not previously bid so it was not his bid being higher than mine from a previous bid. Also, when I look at the bid he has a bid time 4 hours prior to the close of the auction.

Can somebody help me. This has happened three times and if it keeps up I see not point to use AS...

I am not sure that you understand eBay's proxy bidding process. What happened was that you were outbid--someone bid higher than you did. You do not know how much his bid was, just that it was more than yours. Or possibly I do not understand your question.

So it works for everyone else and not you? Chatter is right - you were outbid by a higher, previously placed proxy bid. Look up proxy bidding on eBay's help and all should come clear. And if you keep losing in this way it's down to you under-estimating the amount you need to bid to win - do some research rather than blaming AS which appears to have worked perfectly for you!
