'Default' country for international snipers??

How about being able to specify a default country? It is a bit of a bother that if I click on an item from the AS page that I am shown that item with the US ebay as the root.

If international bidders were able to set (say) Australia as their 'home' ebay site, we could view items and then navigate without having to overtype the URL.
