Confused about bid groups

I am confused about bid groups. I have created a bid group and added two items to it with a max bid of $200 for both items.

In the summary below the bid group it says Totals for Above Snipes: Max bid $400. ie. it has added my two max bids for each item together. Is this correct. I only want one item, and I have set this correctly for the bid group, why is it adding my bids together?

I blame the programmers! The totals are for all snipes - it doesn't check to see if they're bid group items or not.
Another 'useful' feature like the countdown timer that raises lotsa problems whilst providing very little value!
