If you're having trouble making changes to your snipes, then you might want to read this:

AS' is experiencing a problem in updating (adding, changing, deleting) snipes. Your existing snipes are safe, and should be placed.

You might want to keep an eye on this forum. If Sara is around, she'll probably leave a post when the problem gets fixed.

If you don't want an existing snipe placed, a short term solution is to change your ebay password. That will block AS from placing it.

I wouldn't worry about snipes getting placed. The only time snipes haven't gone thru, that I can remember, was due to that time internet was experiencing "The Worm". The rare times there's been a problem with AS, it has only impacted adding, deleting or changing a snipe - not in the actual placement of the snipe.

As a courtesy to others, please don't add new topics to this category, or post to existing topics in this category. This topic may help others that are having the same problem and avoid everyone leaving basically the same question or complaint, so I'd like to keep it at the top where it's visible to everyone.

If you want to let off some steam, please use the other category titled "eBay, General". If you must post to this category, then please add your comments or questions to this thread. That way, this thread will not get buried, and will be available to others in your same situation.

Thank you, and if it's any comfort, AS' staff, forum members, and your fellow snipers feel your pain.

Frown Frown Frown Frown

Rick

P.S. If anyone that happens to be on this forum had a snipe go thru since 8 AM, please leave a post. This might help to relieve some of the anxiety over whether snipes are being placed.

While I am hesistant to post here..I would warn other to go in and manually bid if the same thing should occur again today (my snipes is now back up again). I had a snipe scheduled to go off and it did not go through and I lost the auction.

So, I guess the internet "wormy" thing and today are two times when things have gone haywire and bids weren't placed!
There is absolutely no reason why you should be afraid to post in this Forum, Amanda. And there is a good chance that missing that snipe was due to downtime by AS's servers. Small as it may seem compared to missing a snipe, there is compensation in the form of a free snipe for each one missed. (This is true regardless of whether or not it was AS's fault that the snipe wasn't placed.) To claim your free snipe(s) have the eBay id number handy and go to:

Steve,

Did you leave that post because Amanda said, "While I am hesistant to post here"?

If you did, then are you suggesting that I somehow intimidated Amanda? Since I was the only one around, it sounds like you may be accusing me of that. She didn't say she was "afraid". She said she was "hesitant". I understood that to mean she wanted to start her own topic so that it would be more visible, or something like that. I don't see how I made her "afraid". Maybe she'll come back and explain this hesitancy of hers.

I'd sure like to clear up what you meant by that, because you're not the type of person that drops frivolous words around, but is very careful of their meaning and intent.

The reason I was "hesitant" is becuase A) It was my first time posting, B) My first post was a complaint, C) I posted a completely opposite facutal sceanrio to the one suggested in the thread by the writer (i.e. your snipes will go through).

I wouldn't say I was afraid. If I were, I wouldn't have posted at all and would have kept my mouth shut.

No need to squabble over my hesistancy boys!
Rick, allow me to repeat something I said awhile back: even paranoiacs have real enemies. As for you, Amanda, please forgive me for trying to reassure you. Everyone knows that lawyers have all the assurance in the world, and I should have known you were a lawyer, shouldn't I? How dare I try a reassuring approach to your "hesitance?" Pardon me while I exit this forum before I lose my temper entirely. Mad Mad
