Can't place snipe using AS-error message received

I just found AS and tried to set up a snipe and got an error message from AS: This item is not an auction & can’t be sniped. This auction is in the real estate category and could that possibly be the reason I couldn’t set up a snipe? I have set up a snipe on that particular auction using two other programs (I don’t know if I can mention them here) so other programs can see that auction. AS seems to be the program of choice for me because of some awesome features and great support, but I can’t get the sniped place. I did place another practice snipe on another auction on AS and it did work. HELP-what am I doing wrong? This auction ends at 6:14 tonight PDT. TIA

It might be helpful if you gave the item number so I can check it out. I've never bid on real estate listings before and can't say that I'm familiar with the AS posture on such things. However, I just went to the real estate section of eBay and selected an item at random...a house in Idaho with a starting price of $2,500. The bid now stands at $40,100. A check of the item description reveals that "This auction is for the DOWNPAYMENT ONLY on this property. The purchase price will be $280,000." So AS is right, at least in this case -- it ain't an auction. The purchase price is fixed and the only thing being contested is who wants to put the most money down. Phooey. Roll Eyes
