I was watching an item which however I needed to go out so I used Auctionsniper to place a bid on my behalf. The item should've sold for around £15 but just to make sure I won I put a max bid of £32.21
When I got home I found that I'd been outbid by £1 which is fine however I don't understand why my bid went in a £32.21 when the previous bid was only £15.55. Why such a jump? I thought that AS would've bid £16 or something (ie. the lowest amount to win me the auction)

I also just got a second chance offer of the item so something seems fishy to me. Any ideas what happened? Is it just a dodgy Ebayer?

AS only bids/snipes once, which is the amount of your max bid. It’s your max, so AS bid it.

See previous reply, but what difference would it make?

Might be, might be not. The seller could be fishy, but if you think the price is right, does it make any difference if the seller is fish or foul?

B. it appears for sale again.

And run the risk of it selling for more.

AND, regardless if this is a scam, if they only had one, or they had two or more, they'll would still sell the scammed first one or the unscammed second one, so how would one tell a scammed from an unscammed?

3rd AND (AND maybe more), if this is a scam (aka shilling), then what would prevent the seller from leaving themselves feedback?

Isn’t this an overkill? All this over a handful of £’s? I know, I know – It’s the economy.
