Can not modify account due to error message...

I have had to change my eBay password and forgot to do it on AS so I lot an auction I really wanted. When I tried to modify my password it give me an error message: error in cell phone/telephone number. When I scroll down to red highlighted phone field it says '<' and '>' can not be used. WHAT???? There are no '<' or '>' in the cell phone field!! This thing has been smokin something.. I have contacted support but No one seems to know the answer to this oneI cant get submit my new password and I am missing auctions. Anyone experience this one before or have a solution, fast...

You must have something in that field, an invisible character or something.

Right click in that field, choose "Select All" in the menu that comes up, then click the delete key on your keyboard.

I tried your suggestion and thought I would share with you the solution to my problem....

When modifying my account I had checked the option Not to notify me via my cell phone/pager , however I left my # in the cell phone field. This I was assuming was not an issue to leave my number in that field but I was wrong...This was enough to confuse the system leaving me the error message '<' and '>' can not be used in this field. So I modified my account just intime to snipe an auction that I have been tracking for the past 4 days. Yeah!! Thanks for your help and suggestions.
