Can I get a Refund for Unsuccesful auction - Seller unwilling to sell the item

I won an auction last week. It ended at $237, I was charged $2.40 for the snipe - the seller refuses to honor the auction and says she wanted $550 for the item. I have filed with ebay for seller non-performance - can I get a refund from esnipe for the snipe since the auction was never followed through by the seller. Any help would be appreciated.
