Can a bidder bid after me for a lesser amount? | Auction Sniper

Hi

I used AS on an item and won - very happy about that but just something that's bugging me.

Item #2756018538 Auction ended 23:53:10. Another bidder bid $165.06 at 23:53:00 but AS bid $167.56 for me at 23:52:58. This info is from the Bid History on the auction. How did this person place a bid less than mine AFTER mine? Does it have something to do with earlier bids of the same amount taking precedence? If so, I would've thought it would show on the bidding history page.

I'm just happy I won LOL. Been saving up for ages

I would guess it was a proxy bid. MAybe some of the others will give their opinion.

It's due to ebay's bid increments. There were 4 bids, but 2 were sniped in the last 12 seconds. It wasn't hai5554 that caused your closing price to be $167.56. talespin62 caused it. talespin62's bid was higher then the next bid increment set by hai5554.
