Hello, I'm new to auction sniper and love it! I just got an email from a service called ***************** and wanted to know if auction sniper has changed their name. The email says: "We are an online service provider that helps you to place bid orders at the last moment before the auction on eBay is closed--we are known as auction sniper". I'm not sure how they got my name or email address, so I wanted to check before I deleted the email. Any info about ************ would be appreciated.

They are a competitor of Auction Sniper.

This is what is known in the trade as "passing off" In other words, they are very close to infringing the trade name of Auction Sniper.

The generic term is "auction sniping" - by using the term "auction sniper" note the "no caps." they are hoping that people will confuse them with AS. I think legally, they are on very thin ice - but perhaps they have got legal advice that as sniping at auctions is a generic term, they can get away with it!
