I'm located in Thessaloniki, Greece, and have been using AS for the past three years or so without any problem. I frequently snipe items in the UK, Germany and the US. However, some time last week there seems to have been some sort of - I don't know - policy change coming from somewhere, causing me to lose one auction after the other. If I bid on an item in the UK and the seller hasn't specified in the listing that he will ship outside the UK, then my snipes come back as 'blocked by seller.' This is true even when the seller and I have communicated and agreed on shipping costs - something I always do as a matter of course. This 'blocked by seller' thing is creating problems for both me as a buyer(!!) and for the seller, because in nearly every case mine would have been the winning bid. (Plus, after all the emailing back and forth to sellers, it makes me seem like a real time-waster if it looks like I haven't bid, after-all - and makes sellers even more reluctant in the future to ship to Greece).

The weird thing is, when I DON'T use AS, I'm able to place my bids manually, regardless of a listing's stated shipping conditions.

So...who's causing this new problem? Ebay? Auction Sniper? What's the solution? Do I have to give up on using Auction Sniper if I want to continue to buy from most sellers on ebay?

Hopefully, someone can help. Thanks in advance!

Hello Elizavet,

Thank you for posting to the forums. I'm sorry to hear that you're having this problem. I have informed customer support of this issue and you should be contacted by them very shortly.

We look forward to working with you to resolve this issue.

Thanks for using Auction Sniper.

Respectfully,

Hi Steve

I appreciate you getting back with me on that.

Today I've also had problems bidding manually on auctions that don't state in their listing that they will ship to the European Union/Worldwide. I'm really not sure WHAT'S going on. To be honeset, at this point I'd rather blame Auction Sniper for the problem; at least that would mean there hasn't been a serious policy change over at eBay Central.

At any rate, I look forward to hearing from Customer Support. Hopefully we can quickly get to the bottom of this - it's really been frustrating.

Oh - and it's nice to know that there is a "real person" over at Auction Sniper who actually reads and responds to postings. Impressive!

Kind regards,

Elizavet
I experienced this problem for the first time this week.

It started yesterday when placed 3 snipes on items in the UK. The listing stated 'post to UK only' but my 2 of my snipes went through OK but the third was blocked! The seller says she did not block them and I believe her as they were only a few seconds apart.

Earlier today I placed a low value bid on 2 items today (just to check the seller would accept bids from outside the UK) and set snipes to make sure of winning. Ebay accepted my initial bids but blocked the snipes.

Therefore I seems the problem lies with Auctionsniper's bids. Is there any soloution to this problem.? Please help.
This problem is not peculiar to freight to other countries. I am resident in the UK, and have been losing auctions because of this 'blocked by seller'. When I contact one seller, he was surprised and said he had not blocked any bids at all.
Also having a problem with AuctionSniper not updating My Snipes with the latest bids - one auction has had the same bid for 24 hours, despite another 10 bids being placed on ebay.
The problem is that bidders are automaticly blocked that:
Have a primary shipping address in countries you don’t ship to.
And it is difficult for the seller to change this.
So I allway ask permission to bid form overseas.
Than I make a fake UK address my primairy shipping address and no blocking.
Because you can't change the Paypal invoice the seller will have to sent you a new Paypal invoice with the international shipping costs.

There are some checks in Ebay for postal code and format of the phone number. I use something like:

0 Fake Address
overcoming Ebay block
London London E98 1RL
Verenigd Koninkrijk
(207) XXXXX67

For Germany it is the same solution.
