Hi,

eBay wont even list your bid unless it's at least 1 bid increment over the current high bid at the time we snipe. Bid increments range for 25 cents to $25+ I think. The higher the current price, the higher the bid increment. For example if the current high bid is $250 then the bid increment is $5 and you'd need to bid at least $255 otherwise eBay wont accept the bid, and it wont show up in the bid history.

...of what I have pointed out on any number of occasions, which is the situation where my (losing) bid WAS placed and can be clearly seen in the bidding history, but AS sends me an e-mail telling me that my bid was NOT placed because it was too low.

What they really mean in my situations was that the bid WAS placed at the last minute, but I was simply outbid by a previous bidder's reserve proxy. But I have always questioned the wisdom of sending me an e-mail that states my bid was NOT placed, when it was. We have enough people complaining that their bid was never placed, without arousing people whose bids WERE placed, albeit with unsuccessful outcomes. Wink
