This is my first post. I have already read FAQ's so please do not refer me to it.

Example: Bidding on an item using auction sniper. Auction in closing seconds

Highest bid by others: $10.00
Bid increment: $0.50
Displayed on (ebay) screen:
(enter us $10.50 or more)

My max bid with auction sniper $15.00

What will I pay?
The next winning bid is $10.50.
Is this what auction sniper bids for me with seconds left? or does it bid the $15.00?

To make it more consise (Yes or No).

Does auction sniper attempt to save you money and bid below your max entered when possible and still win the auction?

Maybe a question similar to this can be added to the FAQ's

Thank you in advance for your help.

Wouldn’t dream of it.

Depends on what the high proxy bid is. In your example you only list the bids necessary to win. If the top “proxy bid” is $10, you’d win and pay $10.50. If the top “proxy bid” is $15, you wouldn’t win, wouldn’t pay anything and wished you had set your max bid to $15.01.

No.

Yes.

No to one of the questions and yes to the other one.

Wouldn’t make any difference – the outcome would be the same.

Agree. It’s come up frequently enough to be in the FAQs.

Welcome in behind.
AS isn't clever, it simply bids your max (ie. your snipe) as if it was you (using your ebay ID and password). Cool

What happens then is down to eBay and how it handles that bid. Big Grin

Read up on proxy bidding on eBay's help pages. Smile

Remember to not bid whole dollars/pounds/euros, add a few cents so you win in a tie. Eek

Always bid the max you want to pay for the item, set up your snipe and let AS do the rest. Roll Eyes

If you win, great. Wink

If you lose then someone wanted it more than you and/or you need to do some research. Confused

Good luck! Wink

It’s not a matter of clever or simple. There’s just no way to snipe-nibble in the last couple of seconds.

Francik’s statement about having already read the FAQs would lead one to believe region2’s advice in that quote is redundant.
