Does AS at the 5-7 secs automatically bid the maximum amount, or bid at the next eBay increment?
For example 5 secs before the auction ends the price stands at 5.00 UKPDS, the next increment is 5.50 UKPDS, but my AS max bid is set at 15.00 UKPDS. I win the auction but is it at 5.50 UKPDS, or at 15.00 UKPDS?
If eBay was set to proxy bid for me I would get it for the next eBay increment, well below my AS max of 15.00 UKPDS, if AS incrementally bids I would also get it for substantially less than my AS max bid.
Which is it, and can/is AS able to incrementally bid? (Or am I winning but paying more than I need)

AS places one bid - the maximum amount. AS will bid 15.00 and you'll win it at 5.50 (just like placing a proxy bid).
