Hi.. I'm an AS virgin, and have got my first snipe going in a few hours.
I've set up a bid group with a few items, with the intention to only win one.
However... Two items are within 2 minutes of Auction end of each other.
From what I've read, AS needs at least 5 minutes to cancel a bid.

I'm assuming that this is the case, or is BidGroup more flexible in this sense?

I don't agree with this part of the received wisdom on bidgroups:

"It is impossible for us to detect to see if you have won a snipe, and then cancel the rest, if they end at the same time. You should allow at least 30 seconds between bid group items to give us enough time to determine if you've won the first item."

The part I don't agree with is where it says "you should allow at least 30 seconds between bid group items". I set up bidgroups where even an interval of 4 MINUTES was not enough for the thing to function as expected. What happened was that I got outbid on the first item in one bidgroup, so AS should have placed my snipe on the second item 4 minutes later in the same bidgroup, but it didn't. Instead I ended up with the "Unresolved Bidgroup Item" message--i.e. AS could not determine (or ebay didn't confirm to AS in time), even with 4 minutes, that the first bid did not win, and so it cancelled the second bid.

(I posted similar comments and the precise bid history in "comments and suggestions"--I apologize for the repeat here, but I just noticed that this string deals with similar issues.) One complication may have been that I had several bidgroups with one and the same seller.
