Bidding when Reserve has been placed on item by seller | Auction Sniper

Can anyone explain how AS operates when a reserve has been placed on an item for sale?

If I make a snipe on an item with a large maximum bid and the item has a secret reserve on it what can I expect?
Will AS snipe at my maximum bid or will it snipe at just above the secret reserve figure?

AS can't know the figure. That's what makes it a secret.

AS is a very simple gizmo. It wakes up just before the end of the auction and tries to bid once no matter what state the auction is in. It then reports on the outcome depending on how that bid is dealt with by eBay. It might be rejected as too low, it might be beaten by a proxy bid or it might win...

If your maximum bid is more that the reserve price, you will win (provided no-one else has bid higher of course). If not, you will lose!

No need - eBay's proxy bidding system deals with your bid/snipe. There is no need for AS to be clever.
