I am new to this board, so hi to all. I have a question I hope someone can answer.

After the auction is over, is there a way to find out what the winners' maxium bid would have been? It seems that I saw a recap of an auction here on one of the posts but I can't find it now.

Thanks for your help.

Sorry, No. There is no way to know what a bidders max was. eBay will only display the amount of that max it took to win.

It can sometimes be determined that the winning bid was an actual maximum, but only if the high bid is within one bid increment of the next to highest bid. (did that make sense?)

and to the forum !

The following table has been reorganized and sorted into date order. First
bid placed is line #1. That should make it easier to follow the auction.
Two additional columns have been added. They are the current bid and high
bidder, as displayed on eBay after each bid is placed. v2.0.4
* = Winning bid.

                     Max                        Current Winning
 # BIDDER Bid Day & Time Bid & Bidder
                    (US $)
 1   nevins        100.46   18-Jan  17:39:44    74.99   nevins
 2   donnyzee       85.00   24-Jan  08:21:18    86.00   nevins
 3   donnyzee       95.00   24-Jan  08:22:47    96.00   nevins
 4   donnyzee     *101.00   24-Jan  08:23:39   101.00   donnyzee

In this case 101.00 WAS the actual max bid !
(within one bid increment of nevins bid)
