Bidding on an item with both Ebay and through AS

Hello,

I am currently bidding on an item on Ebay motors. I posted a bid directly on ebay for $1800.00, and there is still approximately 17 hours to go. I am not going to be available to make sure my bid stands at the end and I have posted a snipe bid for approximately 1950.00. My question is, if the auction doesn't get any more bids, which of my bids will stand......the $1800.00 or the $1950.00. Thank you. SC923

You cannot bid against yourself so $1800 will stand as long as there is no reserve. If there is a reserve(in ebay motors) your amount might be bumped up to meet the reserve if it is enough.

Thank you for clearing that up for me. I wasn't sure if it was possible for that or not. I didn't know the system would recognize me coming through the AS service. Thank you. SC923

Yes, ebay will recognise your bid because AS just holds the amount you entered like a proxy bid and then sends the amount to eBay at the last possible moment for eBay to place. EBay then makes a one time proxy bid for you.
