Bidding blocked by seller

I entered a bid of $862.99 on an eBay item 5857562180 that was listed at $810 but I was blocked by the seller. Que pasa? I had not logged into my paypal account; could that be the reason? I’m in the USA in sunny San Mateo, CA. Thanks for your help,

Hi Eric,

Make sure your ebay ID is registered on your Paypal account. If that doesn’t work, here are the other reasons a seller can block your bid:
http://offer.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?BuyerBlockPreferences

If none of that applies, you might want to contact the seller.

The seller said I didn’t have a paypal account. Somehow I had opened a paypal account but it was logged not into at bidding time. Then I found out that the Paypal account had not been linked to eBay; I thought it was. Live and learn. Gasp.
