Bidding amounts

Hi- I was wondering about the amount bid when sniping.If the amount bid on e-bay is say,$10.00,and you have a $30.00 snipe max,sometimes the snipe or proxy bid from another bidder comes in at say,$20.00 & your snipe at $21.00.Shouldn't thier bid be next dollar increment,or $11.00? Or am I missing something obvious? dlzjj.

The other bidder entered a proxy bid that was easily covering the current bid amount showing. When your snipe went in, it only had to beat the proxy by the next bid increment (in your example, $1). In other words, your snipe bid tested and beat the other bidder's best offer for that item. Hope this helps.V
