I was just wondering this myself. I set up a snipe for an auction ending tonight but I am already the high bidder. I really only placed the bid now to see if the previous high bidder had a higher amount set. I am sure that there will be bidders throughout the day but just want to be sure that I won't jeapordize my snipe by already having a bid.
Eric: "As long as you're the high bidder, the snipe will not snipe you."
Well, there are the two exceptions as Rick said: Your snipe can bump up the cost to you if either A) your existing bid was less than a full increment above the next competing bid or B) your existing bid was below a reserve price. I had
A) happen to me: I was winning something at $110, over another guy at 109.99. I sniped myself at something like $121 & had to pay 112.49, I think it was.
