Bid on ebay and AS? | Auction Sniper

I was wondering, if I'm going to use auction sniper to try and buy an item, do i need to put a bid on the eBay site or should I not put a bid on the eBay account and just leave the auction sniper snipe going?

Please reply asap seeing how the item I'm trying to win ends today.
