I just used auction sniper yesturday for the first time and I put a max bid in of $15 and the starting bid was $9.99 and there were no other bidders. Auction snipper won and placed my bid at $15 instead of $9.99, and i looked back and there are no others bidders that bid on the item. Any reason for this? Thanks

Important: How much are you actually paying for the item? You should have won it at $9.99. If I understand Ebay's proxy bidding system correctly, it would have bid up to $15 ONLY if another bidder placed a bid at the highest increment below $15, i.e., $14.50 or thereabouts.

AS bids your maximum amount, NOT the next bidding increment. EBAY, not AS, then "places" a bid for you at the next bidding increment above the price at the time, up to, in this case, your maximum bid $15.

I hope I've explained this correctly!

...when AS places your $15 snipe it'll only show as the next increment and not the $15 sniped - just like eBay's proxy bidding system you can only see someone's max when it's exceeded.

Oh yeah, and don't bid whole dollars/pounds/euros, add a few cents/pence ($15.03 instead of $15) so you stand a better chance of winning in the event of a 'tie'...
