Bid groups

I am a bit confused. Though I have been sniping for awhile with some success I am unsure of using the "bid group." I read and followed the tutorial. Now the item is highlighted with a RED box in MY SNIPES.
There is an item I'd really like to win. My questions are:
1) The item is unique from 1 seller I have it set up to snipe.
2) I am following closely and so far I have the highest snipe bid-(shown)
3) Do I need to put in my higest bid now or watch and wait-will it go automatically over the highest bid or do I have to monitor it and hope I can change it with 3 seconds left?

I re-read the tutorial again. Duh! I guess I answered my own questions.
The highlighted box is red as I chose red myself for my bid group. It will bid for me until I win. Wish me luck if you read this. I apologize for being such a ninny. All day spent typing applications and saving stuff.

Bid groups confused me at first but they work a treat once you realise how they work and also realise that they should be deleted once they are successful (i.e. you cannot use the same bid group for another item).

I use them in the same way that I think you are - I find an item that one seller is selling over and over. Being (fairly) patient, I set my limit to just one or two increments over the start bid and just keep adding the items to the bid group as s/he posts them. Eventually you get to win the item and I can delete the bid group.
