It seems for the most part AS is ok, but if the item you are bidding on is important, you might be better off if you just proxy bid or snipe it yourself. I've lost bids from AS posting almost 15 seconds too early (easy for someone to out snipe) or as much as 20 seconds too late.

I didn't know you could see how late a bid was posted after an auction ended. How did you go about finding that you were 20 seconds late?

We appologize for the recently problems of this past weekend. We sync our clocks with a US Government NTP se rver, -- which happened to fail. Go figure. We now have a couple redundant back ups in case this happens.

We sync our time every 5 minutes. As of right now, our clocks are accurate to 0.002833 seconds of eBay's clock.
