Banned by seller

When the eBay auction was over, even though my bid was higher than the winning bid, I did not win, and the reason given by AS was "Banned by Seller". What does this mean and how can I avoid this in the future?

Have you had dealings with that seller before?

What is means is that they expressly forbid you from bidding on their items.

If you've never dealt with them before then perhaps it was an eBay bug. Our confirmation link right next to your losting snipe will clearly show you the exact message we received from eBay when placing your snipe.
