This is more of a basic computer question, but nevertheless pertinent. I would like to change my AR avatar, but would rather use a pesonal image rather than one of those offered by AR. I have no problem downloading avatars to my computer's C drive....or even resizing personal prictures using a software program (Avatar Resizer). But how in the heck do I get the saved avatar into the AR program? I know you must enter a URL from your pesonal preferences page, but I don't know the URL. The only address I have for my saved avatars is that which I created on my computer, e.g. C:/Programs/My Pictures/Avatars/happyface.jpg. Thanks.

Posting a gif or jpg picture: (Compliments of Puppy, If your watching, we miss you and anxiously await your return.)

Find picture on the net
right click on the picture
select 'Properties'
highlight Web Address url (be sure to get the whole thing)
CTRL+C to copy to clipboard
during a reply click on picture icon
CTRL+V to paste url into pop up window
click OK

If you have already downloaded the pic on your C drive and the url has been replaced with something like C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\My Documents\My Pictures, that's when I upload to village. Village shows a URL or you can click copy url and when you reply to a message click on picture icon (2nd from left) then CTRL+V to paste url into pop up window and click OK

I may be missing the boat, or the large picture, but I think DPM (I prefer that over Dip) is asking how to tell the photo service (Village or Bucket) where/how to find the picture in DPM’s computer so that it can be downloaded into the photo service (hint: “[Browse]”).

I miss (if miss is the right word) basrah – the person that originally showed this forum how to post pictures (but considering how some people have abused it, basrah is probably turning in his virtual grave).
