AuctionSniper works- did for me and I wasnt home!

okay, i have a question . . . i had started with 3 free snipes, and i went ahead and put some stuff in for auctionsniper to do for me. But since i actually had time to be by the computer today, i manually bid and won items on ebay today, . . . in fact, auctionsniper served no purpose because it did not win any of the auctions; in each case the max that i put into auctionsniper was equal to or lower than the price i actually bid manually. and in each case auctionsniper bid after i had already secured the winning bid manually . . . so my question is "why did those three manual wins serve to eliminate my 3 free credits?" Thanks, I'll be watching for an answer.

I have a question. How could you snipe when you had already placed a higher bid??

So many questions - so few answers. Perhaps citing the appropriate FAQ would be of help to psalmone.

If you enter a snipe your bid will be placed by AS... even if it is to low and won't show up in the bid history. AS did bid for you. You should have canceled the snipes at AS and would not have been charged.

If AS bids for you and you win, you will be charged a fee or a free snipe... even if it wasn't the snipe that won the auction for you.

You can not manually bid and use AS as 'insurance' without paying the premiums.

... at least it was the free snipes you lost.

okay, guys, thanks, if i wanted to make sure that i wouldn't be "charged" then i should have cancelled the snipes . . . that makes sense. and there is probably a FAQ about not being able to cancel within "such and such" prior to the auction ending, right?

i'll know better next time. . . . the cost is minimal anyway, so no biggie . . . thanks for the response. . . .

Yep, you're right. You can not edit or cancel a snipe in the last 2-3 minutes of auction end.

hello puppy raiser . . . i've got a golden retriever, about 4 years old named "dusty" . . . . what kind do you breed?

Don't breed them, just raise them for their first year.

I raise Goldens Labs and Sheps for >Leader Dogs for the Blind< and Goldens and Labs for >Paws with a Cause<.

Dog #8 is Ty. He will (hopefully) be a wheelchair dog one day. (9 months old now)

How much longer will you have him, Puppy?

Probably till about 16 months old or so... unless he gets pulled for breeding stock. He's big and they like that. He's as dumb as a post if you ask me, but they keep saying that's OK, don't worry.

If he ends up breeding stock, that will be his only job.

Really? It seems they would choose dogs with a lot of potential to breed!
