Auction Sniper Too Early With Bid

You need to remember that it's the highest bid that wins, not the last one. No-one can manually react to a bid 10, 15 or even 30 seconds from the end so you lost to someone who was willing to bid more than you...

It’s a somewhat common question, and unfortunately, not addressed in AS’s current FAQ’s. In fact, it’s been suggested that an option be provided so that lead times are not adjusted by AS during peak ebay periods. But then, one might get the “Not in Time” message.

Hi Rick and R2; thanks for the info, but what is strange my high bid was higher than the winners bid but for some reason never made it, oh well can't win them all. I was wondering if you ever noticed when you highlight the snipe item you want to paste it on A/S theres a little line that comes out to the right of the #, do you think this is ebays tracking of some sort? To defeat the eBay tracking (that's not the only method they use, trust me!) you can use AS's Snipe It Now button that you put on your toolbar...

I do not understand. You said in the first post that the bid was made ten seconds earlier than what you had scheduled. Now you are saying the bid was never placed?

Hi Chatter & R2; what happened was the bid was placed 10 seconds early and i was notified by A/S that i was high bidder and expected i won the item but another bid was placed beating mine while my high bid amount with A/S never showed and was more than the winners bid amount, thats what i couldn't understand.
