Auction Sniper please help!

Hi there Auction Sniper,

I am a student currently in his last year at Newcastle Uni. For my dissertation I have to create an online “dutch” auction site which has to implement a similar bidding agent such as the one you guys at Auction Sniper have created.

Now as I always use your software to win myself auctions on eBay, it works and it works damn fine! I don’t want to create a competitor auction sniper system at all, I was just wondering if you would be able to advise me on a few things, it would be MUCH appreciated!

1) What programming language would you advise me to use to code it? The auction sniper that I will be creating will be integrated into the auction site itself, so it would be preferable for all of the components to use the same language.
2) Is there anything in particular that I should code into the auction site itself to make the sniper work better, or vice versa?

I realise you probably wont have time to reply to this, but any feedback would be so much appreciated.

Hmmm...

Well, Pete, I'm not sure how anxious AS will be to volunteer up any trade secrets to you...but we'll see.

Anyway, my advice would be to write to them directly as they (and especially the programmers) do not necessarily read this forum. HOWEVER, we seem to have a few programmers amongst the community and perhaps they'll offer up a tip or two for you.
