I was wondering if someone could answer a quick question for me. What I would like to know is if I have a bid in on an item the old fashioned way on ebay, can I also put a snipe in of a higher amount that I have already put in on ebay (just in case someone is going to out snipe me as well)? Will the sniper software recognize me just in case the item does not go over my original ebay bid? Or will it raise the bid price?

1) Ebay allows you to place more than one proxy bid with different max. amounts (whether placed manually or by AS in your behalf). The ONLY way ebay will allow you to bid yourself up is if your first bid is LESS than 1 bid increment above the next highest bid (from another bidder, not yourself!). In that case, ebay will bump your bid up to the next full bid increment.

2) Something to be aware of -- If AS places a bid for you and you win the auction, you will be charged for that snipe, even if your initial proxy bid was sufficient to win. Not a big deal for most folks, but not necessarily obvious either.

Hope that helps! Smile

Yes, Jabber is right on.

Lets suppose your bid at eBay is $90.20... Now I come along and bid $90. You are still the winner at $90.20 If you snipe at $105, the price will go up to $91 (one full increment above my 90).

If my bid were only $85, you would be winning bidder at $86. Your snipe for $105 would NOT raise the price because it's already a full increment above mine.
