I entered a item into AS, fully expecting that I was not going to be around when the auction ended.
However, I was online a few minutes before the auction was about to end. I noticed that my AS bid was BELOW the current bid BUT I did not raise my MAX on AS since I was going to bid manually.
I bid manually and won the item. I then get an E-Mail from AS saying that the item was won via AS.
Is AS that hungry for fees??

Qualitystuff101, if you'd check the FAQs as well as earlier forum discussions, you'd know that AS places a snipe for you whether or not you also snipe manually. Since the snipe is placed for you AS charges you if you win the auction. You didn't delete your AS snipe, which was duly placed. Pay up and quit bellyaching.
qualitystuff101,

The point is, that while you have the snipe on our system, we are doing all the work: checking for bids and amounts, keeping the info in our system, placing the bid, etc. So it is taking our resources, and for that is that you get charged.

There are several posts and discussions about this same topic. As Steve said, you can search in the FAQs for more information.
