I guess I really didn't want them that bad or I would have bid something like 10.77 which is what I freq do!
Loosing this auction not as important as some others will be though. AS has worked great before though. The other person might have had a snipe program huh? They won at 1 sec! Roll Eyes

Impossible to know for sure whether they sniped or not; with only 1 second remaining, they probably did snipe, however, I actually manually sniped an auction at 1 second before. NOT that I intended to do that...that is just how long it took eBay to process my bid submission. In other words, I was dang lucky!

Well, first it was only 20 seconds.

They ask you for a lead time. If ebay is rocking, they punch it thru at that time.

If ebay is 8 seconds behind then they use your lead time PLUS 8 seconds. The idea is to account for a sluggish ebay.

In your case it appears AS noticed ebay was running 15 seconds slow so they "tossed the bid to the ebay gods" 20 seconds out but ebay had picked up speed again and you were early.

Think of it this way... It is better to be 20 seconds early than 15 seconds late... knowhatImean?
Roll Eyes I have found that the best thing to do is to be sure to bid on AS "The MOST I will pay for the darn thing." Then if I get it at that or below, great. If some one was willing to pay more than me and they got it at the last second, then I know they deserved it. I just was not willing to pay that much. (Even by .01) Another item will come along that I will get at "MY PRICE".

I love AS bids, as it avoids running the price up as well as it makes me decide how much I will pay and that is all I will pay. So, best of luck in the future. Smile
