AS sniped at 60 seconds, when my lead was 6 seconds. A reaction bid drove my price up 2 bid increments ($200). Ebay Item number: 320045922721
This is not acceptable. AS owes me $200-9.95 = $190.05

I'm sincerely sorry you had this experience. Item # 320045922721 ended at exactly 7:00 PM on a Sunday evening. Because many eBay sellers choose ending times that are on the half hour or hour marks, these times are also especially busy for eBay‘s and our servers, even more so on Sunday evenings. In this case, the average time eBay‘s servers were taking to process bids was 56 seconds(which is quite common for auctions ending at times such as these) and, since your specified lead time was 6 seconds, your bid was sent 60 seconds early. However, this bid hit a particularly fast server and was processed without any delay.

Maybe I missed it but it should be in boldflashing text that this can happen. My first 4 snipes were perfect. I won this auction by about $250 less than my bid, less than 3 bid increments. When I saw the bid placed early I fully expected to lose it. I got lucky this time.
Read the forums every Monday - you'd soon realise the 'problem' existed! ;-)

Mike, before I used AS and did my own sniping I never had to bid 56 seconds early. I'd bid with a 10-12 sec. lead and never had a problem, even on weekends. Where do you guys get these averages???
Maybe AS should just add an option below each snipe to "force snipe at lead time" which bypasses the pingcheck and load compensation, then just make warnings pop up to hell and back saying AS is not liable if your bid goes in late/not at all. Double edged sword, really.
