Please excuse me if I have posted this in the incorrect area but I have never posted before.
I read a topic where is says there is now only server trouble when trying to edit a snipe. Well, I am still having trouble even getting connected to AS, just keep getting various server error messages so I don't dare try to make any changes to my existing snipes. Yesterday was sucessful in setting up one snipe from approx. 10 attempts from ebay page. Am I alone (Aus) on this or is it the same for all areas of the globe.
Cheers

jenny,

"Please excuse me if I have posted this in the incorrect area but I have never posted before." - This is as good as any area, and probably better than most, if not all. Wink

"I am still having trouble even getting connected to AS ... Am I alone (Aus) on this or is it the same for all areas of the globe." - I just added and deleted a snipe, so everything seems OK, at least for me and me being in the States.

"so I don't dare try to make any changes to my existing snipes." - I think that if you can change them, you should.

In case you didn't see this, Sara from AS support posted this last night:
Bid group items were a subset of bids not placed today. The first would be placed, but not ones after that because the database could not tell if the ones before it won or not. The issue this morning was that the database wasnt able to update the status on items. So after the first bid group item was sniped we couldnt enter into the database the fact that it won or lost. It was then unsafe to fire off subsequent bid group snipes because you might have already won the first one.

Sorry about that.

I hope this is of some help.

But may I make one request of you? I know that the AS method of quoting earlier posts is not convenient when you are answering multiple questions separately. But your method of placing quotation marks around the questions and following them by your excellent responses makes a little difficult to follow each question and response. In other words, they tend to run together. Is there any way you could better separate each question from its quote, perhaps by using boldface type for each question, or a different spacing, etc.?

Thanks. Don't mean to sound picky; I just want to follow the dicussion better. Big Grin
Chatter;

"Is there any way you could better separate each question from its quote, perhaps by using boldface type for each question, or a different spacing, etc.?" - I'll do that. It's a little extra work, but if it keeps it clear, it's worth it. You're right about multiple quoting. I've seen it done, but I haven't figured it out, plus it looks real sloppy.

"Don't mean to sound picky; I just want to follow the dicussion better." - I don't think you're being picky. Thanks for the suggestion. I would never have seen it, and it's much easier for me to keep track of my thoughts then it is for others. So, if you have some other advice, I'd love to hear it. Wink

HOW DOES THIS LOOK?

Looks much better, Rick. Each quotation is in boldface and the response follows; each set comprises a separate paragraph.

I would not even use the quotation marks. I would just put two or three dashes (I think you currently use one) between the quotation and the response. Myself, wheen I do multiple quotes like that, I use >> << signs instead of quotations, since people are used to seeing these in e-mail and on some message boards. It sets off the quotation better, I think. But with the boldface, I am not sure you even need those.

Thanks. Smile
