It would seem to me that a listing of eBay and AS outages would be a good feature for the NEWS AND UPDATES folder. This way people could check there when they allege that snipes were not placed, to see if there were any system-wide issues. The bright yellow bulb (when a new message has been placed) and a post entitled "eBay system outage" or similar would certainly call attention to the thread, especially since it is located on top of the other folders. Although this idea may have merit, I question whether it would be benefical. Having experienced some of these "outages", it seems that some people don't/won't take the time to read what has already been posted, whether it was posted by members or Sara. I'm not suggesting that others only want to let off steam, but those that "tend" to complain during outages are usually new to the forum. I'm not sure they know how the forum works, and perhaps they don't care.

Those that spend some time on this forum, learn about ebay's system's status page. For several of us, that's the first place we go when someone says their snipe didn't go thru and it's not during one of ebay's prime times. Heck, there's probably several of us that look at ebay's status page even when it is a prime time.

And one thing about outages: misery DOES NOT love company. Every forum gets "hit" by several people (sometimes the same person) in a short amount of time.

Sara is very good about posting when the problem is AS's, but even those often go unread.
Maybe they could put up a banner saying "This space available," rsmiller40. Big Grin

I think part of it might be that a newcomer is required to sign up separately to use the Forum. And all of us have to sign in at least once a day thereafter. Razz

That's true to "post", but not to "read". Anyone can read the posts (member or not), but they seem more interested in "output" then "input".
