Suppose the item current price is $1.04. The highest bidder proxy max is $1.00. If I placed an AS bid for $1.30, Will AS bid at $1.04 (the minimum amount to win the item) or $1.30 (in which the winning amount will be $1.25 - one bid increment [$0.25] above the next highest bidder max of $1.00). I guess my question is does AS know what the highest bidder proxy max so that final price doesn't have to be one bid increment above the highest bidder max? Although I'm using small amounts as an example, it could make a difference for larger amounts, $1 vs. $5.

Hello Hwanger987,

All auction sniper does is place the bid for you. If you win, you'll end up paying one increment above the next highest bid. Smile

Since Auction Sniper places the bid right at the end of the auction, other bidders don't have a chance to get into a bidding war with you and drive up the price. Auction Sniper works a lot like manual sniping except that it's much less likely to bid too late and you don't need to worry about being on the computer in order to bid at the last minute. Smile
hwanger987, perhaps it will help if you look at AS sniping as a proxy bid, placed only one time, at the last possible moment. That is exactly what it is. AS sends your max to Ebay and Ebay uses what part of the amount that is needed to win over the other bidder. ( As long as, of course, your snipe is high enough to place)
