I just lost a small e-bay item... but curiously. (#2628596288). I placed a "snipe" a couple days ago for a max of $5.01 and the winning bid was $3.24. Is there a minimum AS will pay attention to? My snipe was sitting there very calmly saying "Did Not Win", but also said it was "READY" and there was my BIG bid of $1.77 higher than the winning bid... What happened?

I hope that doesn't happen again for BIGGER items, say $7.49! Now THAT would be dissapointing, eh?

Thanks,
Nancy

Thanks Steve!

acornpuddy,

You may be new to this forum. But if you haven't already discovered this, anyone that's anyone on this forum has a great amount of respect for Steve. He looks out for the rest of us. He's been around FOREVER. He's very modest and will most likely tell me to "cut it out". He's never told me what part I should "cut out" (ouch), or how I should cut it out (dull knife).

chatter163, star_trkr, rickdogg, and others (which I apologize for not being thorough in my research, but you are welcome to mention yourselves) are also very, very, very good sources of information and have been around a lot longer than me.

I have learned many things from EACH of them, and hope to continue to learn more.

The Good, Bad, and the Ugly (You pick, but maybe "the Patient" could be added).

(no Graemlins should be necessary; I hope)
I count 3 people from last night that said that AS didn't place their snipes. Only one was willing to give us any details. None have given us their lead times. All were on Sunday.

AS placed a snipe for me last night at 7:45 PM. I used a 15 second lead time, and the snipe was placed 17 seconds before close of auction.

Is it possible that these 3 people didn't follow the advice about using longer lead times on Sunday's? Confused
