Hi there,

I'm new to AS so forgive me if i seem a little stoopid Roll Eyes

I want to snipe 2 bids that end 15th May between 21.00-23.00 (these are Dutch auctions). I'm a little worried as it ending on a Saturday night i won't be in Wink .......

I have the lead time set at Default 5 seconds, do you think that would be fine? or should i alter it?

TIA Smile

I use 7-8 seconds. Your 5 should be OK unless the auctions ends on an exact quarter hour. Then I would add 10-15 seconds to that.

Dutch auctions are very tricky. Since you will be away you won't have the chance, but I would check the bid history late (like 5 minutes) in the auction before deciding on a final price and/or quantity to bid for. A few cents and/or quantity of one can change the outcome quite a bit. Some on the forum (not me) might suggest an early bid can be better than a snipe for a dutch auction!

WELCOME to the forum, and good luck...
... let us know how it works out for you?
Hi,

Thanks for your replies Smile

The particular bid that i REALLY want, ends tonight at 21:00 so that one is one the hour, so do you think it would be safe to leave it at the default 5 seconds?

i've just checked the bid as there are 4 available, i'm still in the winning list. I've entered the absolute maximum bid that i'm willing to pay into AS.

So do you think this is ok? (sorry for all the Q's)

Grrr why do auctions have to end on a saturday night?? Roll Eyes think i might have to invest in a lap top and take it out strapped to me!! LOL ...

It's my birthday tomorrow and i just have to win this bid!! Big Grin

Thanks for your help
