Below is a copy of the email I received tonight. I sent it to ebay and they said it's fake. Just thought I'd throw it out there for anyone who might be confused by these bogus emails. ALWAYS send them to spoof@ebay.com and never click on the links and fill in any information. Here is the email......

If you run your mouse over the link that these spoofs invariably have, you'll notice that the actual website it links to appears in the email's status bar in Outlook Express.

For example, in one I received yesterday, although the email said:
http://signin.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?OneTimePayment&ssPageName=h:h:sin:US
it really linked to
http://66.98.224.18/scgi-maintenancesecureform.net/
the former looks legit but the latter is just using an IP address in the hope of being anonymous!

I've also noticed that the TO address is to my ebay address - I use it for nothing else so either they've guessed it (not hard, it's ebay@teddybearsareevil.com) Wink or someone I've upset by questionning their ripoff P&P or PayPal surcharge has entered it on a disreputable website (I sometimes do that with people who p*ss me off! That'll teach 'em!!!!) Razz

These emails come with amazing regularity - I just forward them straight on to spoof@ebay.com, spoof@paypal.com etc and report them via the spamcop report on my Spam filter.

If by avatar you mean your username, it must have taken: I show we match eBay at the moment (and we must).

No the little picture you have to use now instead of a signature. I keep deleting it to put in a different one and it won‘t go away.

None of this sounds like us. We have neither signatures nor avatars. Sorry.

Here's what you're trying to be
http://www.savepic.com/freepicturehosting/is.php?i=80972&img=MVC-033S.jpg
- paste that into your box...

I reckon this image won't work as an Avatar once it's shrunk to 48 x 48 - a bit too much detail in the original...

Heh, yea I guess I figured they would know why it won't let me change it.
See the thing is, when I go in there I can't get the thing to clear out. I've tried to make it NO avatar by deleting the link. But it keeps coming back! I've even tried to change it to one of their selections, but nope, it still comes back the same.Oh well, I have better things to do than that!
