Any one know why Auction sniper will only allow a 5 second lead time?
I generally use 4 seconds but I cant seem to change it to that.

Where are you trying to specify the lead time?
I believe you can put in any lead time you want, unless they have changed it!
That’s strange – same is happening to me on Import Wizard, or adding a snipe. Can’t even modify. You might want to file a support case: http://support.auctionsniper.com/

You can change the lead time on the "modify" bid screen.
They must have changed it because I used to do 4 seconds all the time. (last week)Never missed one unless I was outbid.

I have been honing my snipes to see the most effective bid possible without giving an extra second for someone to over bid me and I have been using 4 or 3 seconds. Sometimes the three second doesn't go through so the 4 second lead for me is the best. Today, I tried a 4 second snipe and it doesn't let me. What's this? This only lets the higher bid max to register if someone beats you by that one second. And why did it suddenly go into affect?

Yes, I agree with R2! I have never lost an auction because someone bid after my 8 second snipe!
Not sure why anyone would place a manual snipe, unless they are in a transitional stage.

The most effective bid is to set your max and walk away. It is the HIGHEST bid that wins, not the last. Anyone who bids that late in the auction was planning to snipe, just as you, so four seconds is not going to give you any advantage over eight seconds. Bid your max and be done with it.
