24 hours to reset?

Long time user, first time problem!
I reset my eBay password, hopped over to AS to do the same and AS keeps telling me that it's invalid. Did a check with eBay connectivity and get a message about a 4-digit code in eBay which AS support tells me will be reset in 24 hours and then I will be allowed to reset my password in AS. I'm am finding this hard to believe! I know that in all of the years I've been on eBay and AS that I've never had trouble changing my password. Haven't found anyone here reporting this. Did find ONE guy who asked about it on eBay and he was told to take the problem to AS. I have a snipe that ends in less than 2 hours....shoot.

After some further looking around I did see a discussion back in 2007/08 about this....although no mention of 24 hours for eBay to reset the code. And I do always use strong passwords.
