It took 2 auctions for the same item to win one but I have to consider this a learning curve. At least I had several of the same item to bid on and therefore several chances to win. Now I know that patience and setting my snipe a little higher, about 5 - 10% than I might spend at a one-on-one auction does the trick. The auction I won came in at 15% less ($10) than the one I lost and no where near the snipe limit I had set. Even so, you have to be comfortable with the limits you set.
