Reply to "Difference Between "Outsnipped" and "Bid Too Low"?"

I've never seen "Outsniped", but my guess is:

  • AS placed the bid successfully, and you were the high bidder (for a few seconds).
  • Another snipe was placed which beat your snipe's proxy.
  • AS checked the auction after it was finished, and saw that you didn't win, but it knew that you had the high bid earlier.


"Bid Too Low" just means that by the time your snipe was placed, the item's next allowable bid (remembering bid increments) was higher than your snipe amount. I've gotten this as my most common "I didn't win" message.
